How your circulatory system workImage

When tiny blood vessels, called capillaries, absorb oxygen from the lungs and in turn discharge carbon dioxide, which we then exhale these blood vessels feed into the heart, which pumps the oxygenated blood to all cells and give off oxygen plus other nutrients and in turn receive waste products. The blood vessels that supply cells with nutrients and oxygen are called arteries, while the blood vessels that carry away waste products and carbon dioxide are called veins. The human heart is the vital organ that maintains the blood circulation of cardiovascular system.

Atherosclerosis is a medical condition that the arteries become hard, narrow and thick due to the build up of fatty materials such as cholesterol.  Image

It is a condition when the chest pain occurs under different moments like exertion, severe emotional stress, heavy meals or vigorous exercise during which the heart muscles demands more blood oxygen than the partial blockage of coronary arteries can deliver due to the narrowing or partial blockage of coronary arteries. Angina is only the symptoms of atherosclerosis and the sign of the heart attack.

Heart attack

Hearth attack (also known as a myocardial infarction) is the death of heart muscle from the sudden blockage of a coronary artery by a blood clot. Blockage of a coronary artery deprives the heart muscle of blood and oxygen, causing injury to the heart muscles. Injury to the heart muscle causes chest pain and chest pressure sensation. If blood flow is not restored to the heart muscle within 20 to 40 minutes, irreversible death of the heart muscle will begin to occur. Image

Causes of heart disease

  • Atherosclerosis, thrombosis and arteriosclerosis
  • High blood pressure
  • High blood lipid which refers to increased levels of lipid (fat) I the blood, including cholesterol and triglycerides
  • High level of homocysteine

Parasitic infestation

Human parasite are organisms taking human as their host and feeding on the food and nutrients you take to survive because they are unable to produce food for themselves. As the host of parasite s, human bodies not only lose a lot of nutrients, provide them a shelter to complete their lifecycle, but also sacrifice health due to the damage of the tissues, cells and the waste made by the parasites.

Symptoms of parasite:Image

It is characterized by some classic symptoms like fever, head ache, vomiting, and chilling and cyclical occurrence of sudden coldness followed by rigor and the fever and sweating.

Malaria is a mosquito borne infectious disease caused by a parasite called plasmodium. The transmission of malaria is exclusively through the bites of mosquitoes that bring the malaria parasites to the liver along with blood flow.

Preventive measure of parasites:

Vector control is the most effective way to prevent malaria and its transmission. Prevention of mosquito bites by distribution of mosquito nets and insect repellents, spraying insecticides inside houses and draining standing water where mosquitoes lay their eggs would be the effective measures to control vectors.

Types of parasites

  • Round worm
  • Hook worm
  • Pin worm
  • Tape worm
  • Amoebae

Round worm enter human body when human contacts with infected food and feces and transfers them to the mouth. Skin is also one way of roundworm infection. They are also called ascaris.

Symptoms of Round worm:

Round worm infestation result in symptoms such as loss of appetite, intestinal tract blockage hemorrhage, appendicitis, peritonitis, abscesses in the liver and can even lead to lungs disorder like coughing and wheezing when the round worm larvae migrates to the lung.

Hook worm

The hookworm is a common parasitic worm that lives in the small intestine of human. Human often get infected through skin by larvae rather that the eggs when human walk barefoot through the contaminated areas. When the larvae enter inside human body, they can move from the vascular to the lungs and trachea where they are swallowed and thus enter the digestive system and in the intestine by feeding on your blood.

Symptoms of Hookworm:

There are no specific symptoms for mild hookworm infection. The damage to human body caused by hook worm will be revealed when heavy- intensity hookworms are accumulated. Symptoms of hookworm include iron deficiency anemia, abdominal disorder, loss of appetite, protein deficiency, skin irritation edema, intellectual, cognitive and growth retardation in children and even death.

Pin worm is a kind of parasites which causes intestinal infection particularly in children with symptoms of anus or vagina itching, digestive disorders insomnia irritability or nervousness. People often get infected through the ingestion of pin worm eggs either from contaminated hand, food, water, or cloths bed linens towels, and furniture.

Tape worm is a kind of flat shape and almost 6 inches length parasite, which lives in the digestive tract and absorbs nutrients from the host’s blood. People who get infected with tape worm have the common symptoms of increased appetite, irritability, insomnia, anemia, and sensitivity to light

Amoeba infection often occurs through the ingestion of mature cysts in fecal contamination food, water and hands. Patients infected with amoeba get the symptoms of profuse diarrhea with blood and mucus, fever and dehydration. It may also cause ulcers and abscesses where they invade organs like liver and brain.
